Based in Kuztown, Pennsylvania, Saucony's Northeast American roots have always informed their designs, in-turn crafting some of the most quality runners since their inception in 1898. Celebrating their 125th anniversary, Saucony has taken the time to look back at their vast catalogue and reinterpret key styles in their history, starting with the Progrid Omni 9 “Crystal Cave”.

Attracting visitors for over 145 years, the crystal cave in Kutztown, PA is a mainstay of Saucony's home town. Taking cues from the unique geology and natural formations of the caves walls, the Progrid Omni 9 has been treated with an anodizing process that creates a “crystal” effect throughout the upper. An open mesh base shifts between colors when the light changes focus.

Under rain soaked pavement and glowing neon signs, we stepped out with Jamal in Vancouver's historic Chinatown, where the shoe's unique colouring could really shine.
